Editor,
Caggiano did not recognize that Hamas has not accepted a ceasefire with preconditions that it release all the hostages and resign from governing Gaza. Mike has a compassion for suffering of the Palestinians, but he did not show any corresponding empathy for the suffering of the Israelis. His supporting Hamas, knowing their history of brutal inhuman terrorism, is embarrassing.

You nailed it!
Well written, Mr. Licht. If one reads most if not all of the letters supporting Hamas, one quickly notices many, if not all, of these letters don’t mention the initial atrocity of Hamas attacking Israel. I’d posit that many of these folks are keenly aware of Hamas and their brutal inhuman terrorism but they’re willing to give Hamas a pass, as they’ve given a pass to Hamas for their initial attack on Israel. The thing is is that each letter sympathizing with Hamas is engendering less sympathy for Hamas and their supporters.
