In his latest letter, Mike Caggiano tries to justify the Democrat’s redistricting using the old schoolyard excuse, “he started it.” He often uses the word “we.” Who is “we” Mike? It’s not the people who elected a non-Democrat to represent them. It’s not the folks in your district who didn’t vote for a Democrat. Mike’s “we” is not the people of California, it is a party — the Democratic Party. I don’t think you understand the difference or the implications. Let me offer quotes from better minds than mine.
George Washington stated, “Political parties serve always to distract the public counsel and enfeeble the public. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms.” Thomas Paine stated, “Party knows no prize but victory. It is blind to truth. It seeks to justify error by perseverance. A man under the tyranny of Party spirit is the greatest slave upon the earth.”
It sounds like Mr. Paine knows you Mike. And then you have the temerity to use the word “temporary.” Do you really think that when the smoke clears the Democrats will simply give back the seat? Have you seen any pigs with wings?

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Howard. I find it ironic (some would say hypocritical) that Mike Caggiano always blames Israel for the plight of Hamas and their terrorist supporters while conveniently forgetting that Hamas started the war. And now when it suits Mr. Caggiano, he conveniently remembers who he believes started the redistricting war. I’d say that based on past history, there are many instances where Mr. Caggiano will say anything and conveniently forget anything that doesn’t suit his narrative. BTW, thanks to Newsom starting a redistricting war, reports are that Missouri is now voting to redistrict and remove a potential Democrat seat. Let’s hope other red states do the same. Newsom started it.
TY;
As usual, you aren't telling the truth. Newsom did not start the redistricting war, Trump and the Texas Republicans. It is fully documented in the news. You are the one who is hypocritical. It's ok for the Republicans to gerrymander the voting districts in their states to cheat in the elections, but, it's not ok for the Democrats to fight back and do the same thing, You and Mr. Howard are two of a kind.
Mike O. - what do we care about Texas. Newsom started it here in California. Besides, if we wanted to be like Texas, Newsom would not have a crack at being a governor. Our State has already been gerrymandered to death and now you'd want even more control?
Thanks for your reply, Mike O. but how can we take anything you write seriously? You don’t want to accept the fact (even by the left wing press) that Obama put kids in cages and Pelosi, through her admitted dereliction of duty, failed to protect the Capitol from a so-called insurrection. You don’t believe the US Constitution protects individual liberties when everyone under the sun can quickly and easily do a simple search for “does the constitution protect individual liberties” and find out that yep, the US Constitution protects individual liberties. If you’re willing to lie about those facts, what else are you willing to lie about? We won't waste time to determine whether you're telling the truth - it's easier to ignore everything. Have a Trump-tastic day!
