Editor,
Here in the center of tech, dubbed long ago as Silicon Valley, we prize innovative companies the world over and especially the people who have founded them. People like Stephanie Shirley. You never heard of her? Hmmm. I wonder why? She founded a software business in England in 1962 with $220 in today’s dollars. In the 1970s, its employees were 99% women. Approximately 70 of her female employees became millionaires when the company, then called Xansa, restructured to allow partial employee ownership. Today, the company, which she sold in 1993, is worth about $3 billion following several mergers and acquisitions. She was a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire and a prodigious philanthropist.

Kaia - after a few milestones in my life, it is clear that many women do not get the attention that they deserve. German composer Schuman's sister had to publish her fabulous musical compositions under his name, for example. I have been quite fortunate in having highly educated women in my immediate family and have noticed that they are not any different than men in requiring recognition. It seems to me that most women desire a loving, stable and reliable partner, e.g. a husband, to fulfill their lives, just like most men do. In the end, their professional achievements appear to be secondary to their personal life that they have create for themselves with their chosen partner. In no way does that diminish their contributions, either societal or culturally. As a married man, I wake up every day appreciating the marvel of womanhood, which can be inexplicable, but that sets men and women apart, for a reason.
Second that, Dirk! I'm fortunate enough to have been blessed with the greatest Mom, wife and daughter you can imagine! What have I done to deserve it?
Nothing new there, Kaia! Women have always been discriminated against, especially in this country, in stark contrast to more progressive countries, like Scandinavia, where equality reigns, benefitting all.
There seems to be some fear of women in this country, and not only among men, but among women as well. Powerful, accomplished and highly educated women aren’t only feared by men, but among women as well. Instead, they should be cheered up and supported by any means, especially in a country where sexual equality has been lagging so badly behind. No US female president yet, why? No female yet up to Trump’s educational level, intellect, moral standards or accomplishments? Give me a break!
Jorg, you ask why there hasn’t been any US female president. Just because one is female doesn’t mean they’re qualified to be president. Let’s take a quick look at “best” candidates Democrats pushed forward. You have a candidate who attempted to smear multiple accusers of her husband’s philandering and you have another candidate who was the “other” woman in a relationship and who also supported biological men competing against biological women. And folks should vote for them just because they’re female? Give me a break!
We know there were plenty of Democrat women who voted against Crooked Hillary and Word Salad Harris. They are another of the many reasons why our (yes, our) great President Trump was elected to be the greatest president in our lifetime – twice. To borrow from FFGig (who we haven’t heard from a while – I hope he’s okay), “End of discussion. Next.” Have a Trump-tastic day!
Trump must be a genius for picking someone like RFKjr. as head of HHS, such an unhealthy, unfit and uneducated individual, with a worm in his head.
And now Trump wants prayer in school, - praying to WHAT for What? To win football games, - or the lottery?
