A vehicle fire that spread to vegetation shut down Interstate 280 in both directions south of Farm Hill Boulevard and several major roads near Woodside in San Mateo County on Saturday.
About six acres burned on the west side of Interstate 280, and four acres on the east side, Cal Fire said. Traffic from I-280 was diverted to Woodside Road and Edgewood, the California Highway Patrol said.
Ten residences were evacuated as a precaution, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.
