Editor,

Gas stoves are cheaper to operate than electric ones. They are reliable. You can use them during power outages, and they just do a better job at cooking. Have you ever been to a good restaurant that didn’t have a gas range? Even in Burlingame? As for the Stanford

Jerry - let's not forget that this same Stanford decided to remove itself from PG&E's power grid and then was left without electricity for days on end. they brought in diesel generators that left more pollution in these weeks than all gas stoves in the county will ever emit. The BAAD should be dismantled and sent packing. Oh, I forgot, they have managed to destroy our cozy fires and barbecues during family reunions. That is all they are known for.

Methane is a driver of the climate crisis. That cost is not included in your bill. Gas pollution indoors harms the users. Induction stovetops provide the same control benefit as gas (I know, my omelettes and crepes are fine). HOWEVER, forcing electrification until reforming the CPUC and utility monopoly IS a mistake, for many reasons detailed here: https://shiftbayarea.substack.com/p/whats-wrong-with-the-gas-ban
