David is a very hard worker. I feel certain he will take that work ethic with him to the Assessors Office
Not only that but Canepa has pledged to surround himaelf with top expert deputies to run each department smoothly, save money, and improve public service. Irizarry does not consult his staff in policy decisions. That's why the departments are inefficient and chaotic.
So, Guest876589, you’re telling us Canepa is admitting he isn’t qualified for the position and must surround himself with others (like Jim Irizarry) to tell Canepa how to run the office? Not surprising since Canepa has no experience whatsoever in assessing, county clerking, and recording. Not much of a work ethic (to address KarenCunningham’s comment) if you don’t know the work you’re supposed to be doing. Sounds to me like Canepa brings nothing to the table and is essentially a free-rider, but not free since Canepa is feeding at the taxpayer trough. Thanks for providing another reason to vote for Irizarry. A man who knows how to run the office.
No, I'm saying that's what good CEO's do. I've had two successful organizations doing that. Do you think the CEO of the Niners should be QB or hire the best QB?
The offices are a cesspool of waste right now that you seem to favor.
By your logic, Clinton, Trump, and Obama shoukd not have been president because they were not in the military and the President is in charge of the Military. We need a leader, not someone who scored the lowest of all Bay Area Assessors by far according to the latest State BOE audit. (Dec 2025 SBE Survey)
So, Guest876589 (thanks for changing your username – your old one was onerous), by your logic, we could have a high school grad CEO’ing successful organizations as you claim to have done. Or a recovering drug addict/homeless person being the Chief of Police. Or the janitor at one of your allegedly successful organizations being the Chief of Surgery. That being said, we do need a leader. Just not Canepa since he has no experience whatsoever in assessing, county clerking, and recording. BTW, have you seen the print ad comparing qualifications between Irizarry and Canepa? Enough said about who the leader is. Irizarry.
Whatever the problems in the current office, Irizarry is not the current boss. He has been in the trenches doing that job, however. And he knows what to fix. Rather than elect another politician looking to extend his pension in Canepa, let's elevate a non-partisan who's been working in the field. Note that Canepa's peers on the Board of Supervisors are endorsing Irizarry - they saw him at work, with decision-making compromised by his campaign ambitions, and offensive conduct on public display. Canepa doesn't merit the office.
