Editor,

In a recent opinion a gentlemen stated separation of church and state is enshrined in the first amendment of the Constitution. That is 100% historically false. You will not find that phrase anywhere in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights because it was not a concept until 1802 when Thomas Jefferson referenced that statement in a letter to the Danbury Baptists guaranteeing them the government cannot establish a state religion but also cannot interfere with the free exercise there of. Then, in 1947, that phrase was used to begin the eradication of religion from schools. I can objectively argue the results of removing religion from schools have created a society where morals and decency are in the gutter. Don’t believe me? Just turn on the news. Exactly.

If you need the fear of an imaginary god figure to behave yourself, so be it. Atheists don’t, yet they are basically better behaved and less likely to commit crimes than believers.

Jorg - you will never understand what religion is all about. It is not based on fear but on a human need to have a moral compass. Also, statistically there are fewer atheists than believers which translates to correspondingly fewer committed crimes.

You have it all turned upside-down, Dirk! Statistically, Atheists have more of an inner compass to guide them through life, thus far less criminally inclined. That’s enough for me, - never had a need for any kind of godly salvation or guidance, and what, have I done?

Jorg, my friend, what have you done? I know you don’t understand the concepts of the Second Amendment or the Electoral College, or the definitions of “assault weapon” or “insurrection” or “incendiary” or “credit” to name a few. I know “In God We Trust” is on U.S. currency yet you have no issues using currency. Just a few reasons for me to know we can’t take you seriously. Perhaps you can enlighten us to change our minds? Have a Trump-tastic day. And hopefully in the future, a $250 bill with Trump and “In God We Trust” on it. Perhaps the bill can also include “Make America Great Again” on the design.

Jorg

MissTY: Obviously, you haven’t read my latest book yet, “INSIGHTS of a Nordic immigrant to America”. There, I explain it all, so read it and wise up! You can still buy it at Amazon at production cost, since I don't need to make any money on it.

Many thanks for your letter, Pat Henry (great name and I wonder whether you come from the line of one of our Founding Fathers). God is such a critical role in this nation that a law was passed mandating “In God We Trust” on all currency. For those who don’t agree (hey Jorg, I’m talking to you), they’re free to donate their currency to me. Or return the money to the US Treasury in exchange for Monopoly money. Alternatively, for my friend Jorg, who doesn’t understand the Second Amendment so I’m unsure he understands the First Amendment (or the Constitution), I’d recommend donating to Trump-led super PACs so Trump can continue to Make America Great Again if he is not allowed to run for President in 2028. Perhaps Senator Trump, Congressman Trump, Governor Trump?
