Thanks for covering, SMDJ.

I would love a follow up article on this tragedy. I have heard that the driver illegally hit the person on bike while making a left turn. Were they cited? Was their license revoked or were they referred to DMV for reexamination? Were they driving an SUV or other vehicle with poor visibility?

What is the Town's response? What will they do to prevent another tragedy? Have other crashes occurred here, meriting more attention?

"I didn't see them" is why we need more bike lanes in San Mateo County.

That would actually improve safety, instead our "elderly" politicians bully kids with e-bikes off the streets. Just because they can ...

"I didn't see them" almost always means:

- "I was distracted by the big screen in my car"

- "I was distracted by the little screen in my hand"

- "I was changing the radio channel"

- "I was taking a sip of coffee."

- "I was shouting at my kids in the back seat."

What it most certainly means is "I didn't have my eyes on the road. I violated my 'Duty of Care'."

But as we know from CalMatter's "License To Kill", the sheriff and the DA will try to sweep this case under the rug ... where they keep all these other crashes:
