Editor,

This office requires operational transparency and public confidence. David Canepa brings a demonstrated ability to maintain both through consistent public engagement. Frequent interaction with constituents is not a distraction from governance. It is a mechanism for accountability. It ensures that policies and processes remain visible and understandable to the public. In roles tied directly to our votes and elections, that level of openness is essential. Canepa’s approach aligns with the expectations of a modern, accessible government.

No thanks, Ferras. Mr. Canepa has no experience whatsoever in assessing, county clerking, and recording. Meanwhile, Mr. Irizarry has been doing that job for what 13 years? We should not reward Canepa with another taxpayer-funded job in which he has no experience. I can’t recall anything of value that Canepa has achieved, other than wasting taxpayer money. Place your vote for Mr. Irizarry.

Well great. Electing Canepa is similar to giving a janitor control over an industrial facility because of his transparency and dedication. It takes quite a bit more than those attributes to run a very complex County department. Canepa has none of the required skills other than a propensity to ask his friends and neighbors to endorse him.

Could not disagree more. From using public funds for high school graduations in his district to blind support of expensive union-driven projects (which support his elections), this guy has been on the wrong side of many issues and - as mentioned - lacks the experience and competence for an important, albeit obscure job. Irizarry is a non-partisan, competent administrator who is already doing much of the work. Canepa is a termed-out politician looking for a pension extension.
