Editor,

In response to Mike Forster’s letter voting by mail should never be allowed, you claim that voter fraud is almost nonexistent. I believe that voter fraud is rampant. We used to show up to our local voting stations which was a church in our neighborhood, show ID, sign the book and vote.

So, why would water fraud benefit the Democratic side?

Isn’t it more likely that people dishonest enough to vote illegally, would vote for the less honest party, the Republican? Remember the case some time ago, where it was found that the only voter fraud, was committed by Republicans voting for dead relatives?

Jorg

Sorry! I meant 'voter fraud", not water fraud! Sounds funny, though!

Thanks for your letter, Neil. The approach these days is that if Democrats are for it, everyone else should be against it. Remember, Democrats put the welfare of criminals and terrorists over the American people and Democrats want biological men to compete against biological women. So much for women’s rights. As such, if Democrats are against voter ID, we should all be for it. Because voter fraud is real, and just as important as the waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer funds.

For those of you who subscribe, are familiar with, and/or support Judicial Watch, that organization has already forced several states, through court orders, to literally remove hundreds of thousands of names off the voter registrations. All of these were getting mail in ballots and were thus considered eligible voters. They included deceased, felons, moved-away, and so-called provisional voters. This proved that the voter fraud percentage was, and still is, a deceitful tactic by some state officials to hide the truth, as the unedited list would not have identified the ineligible voters. The targeted states included California, Oregon, North Carolina and others. Judicial Watch has been on the fore front nationally to clean up our voting rolls and restore integrity. We have a long way to go. The Save Act for voter ID is one result of their efforts.

Fraud is rare as evidenced by the Heritage Foundation’s exhaustive research into the matter, https://www.brookings.edu/articles/how-widespread-is-election-fraud-in-the-united-states-not-very/). For example HF went back 25 years in Arizona elections to find 36 cases. With over 32 million votes cast, that’s a percentage of .0000845% fraudulent votes.

Showing your ID to vote is not the issue—the issue is proving your citizenship to vote, which the SAVE Act and similar proposed legislation would require. Half of Americans do not have a passport and many cannot locate their birth certificates easily. Many women have names that do not match their birth certificates, https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/new-save-act-bills-would-still-block-millions-americans-voting. A similar law was passed in Kansas and later struck down by Federal courts after 31,000 citizens were not able to vote. https://apnews.com/article/kansas-noncitizen-voting-proof-of-citizenship-50d56a0b8d1f0fde15480aab3db67f4f?utm_source=copy&utm_medium=share.

The real purpose of the SAVE Act is to sow doubts in unfavorable election results. To this end, political groups have put replacement theory, the extremist idea that there is a conspiracy to replace white Americans with non-whites for political gain, into conventional right-wing political discourse and into the G.O.P. (May 15, 2022, “A Fringe Conspiracy Theory, Fostered Online, Is Refashioned by the G.O.P.” New York Times) and (https://www.npr.org/2024/09/13/g-s1-22583/trump-great-replacement-conspiracy-theory). So less than a fraction of a percent of votes are cast by noncitizens, and there is a possibility of turning away up to 9 or 10 or 12 percent of voters. It’s not worth the time and expense to implement it.

ClashFan - I think you missed my point. The Heritage Foundation never drilled down into the voter rolls and assumed that all of those names were legit. Judicial Watch actually checked each name and found vast numbers that should have been deleted but were still sent mail in ballots. If these ballots were returned by someone to the vote centers they were assumed to be valid. Having worked in the vote centers and the adjudication dept after the ballots were returned, I found the signature verification process, on which eligibility is based, to be questionable to put it mildly. That is where the difference lies. It turns out that there is not necessarily a conspiracy but either laziness or dereliction of duty to keep the records updated. The Save Act would be one way to clean this up and getting a picture ID is a simple process. The Act, if passed, provides for detailed instructions. My wife and I are immigrants, have passports. Our daughter changed her name when she married and had no problem getting a new ID. All of those objections are silly and forwarded by the crowd that refuses to acknowledge voting irregularities.

Dirk - ClashFan did not miss the point, he doesn’t want to see the point. He is an ideologue, he forms thinking around how he feels things should be, see Katanji Brown, and certainly not around facts or common sense, but only around Democrat talking points. The same idiots that clash fan references could find their citizenship ID in about five minutes if they needed to buy alcohol, or board a plane, or get a job. Getting a job probably is the least of their desires.

Since the percentage of voter fraud is minuscule, according to you, why do we need to ask for an identification to fly, and why do people need to go through metal detectors? After all probably only a few terrorists would get on a plane and abuse the new Clash Fan trust system. So a couple of planes blow up, it’s a small percentage

Hey ClashFan, we’ve gone over your alleged lack of access to documents in the past, multiple times. Type in “how fast can I get a copy of birth certificate or marriage certificate” and results will tell you how quickly and what steps to take. If one is unable to go, in-person, to retrieve documents, one can easily access the internet to obtain documents to be delivered. Almost 100% of Americans have access to broadband and for those who don’t they can find someone that does. Besides, didn’t one need a birth certificate to get a driver’s license? Pass the SAVE America Act.

BTW, why would you be okay with any percentage of voter fraud? It is reported the Democrat State Board if NC violated their state constitution by allowing “never” residents to vote. Seems the cherry-picked percentage you cite regarding voter fraud is increasing rapidly now that we have a new sheriff in town and country highlighting voter fraud committed by Dems.

Terence - Judicial Watch just announced that they are suing the State of California to remove 873,000 inactive voter registrations. Voter fraud can be defined in many ways.

Thanks for informing our readers, Mr. van Ulden. Another bit of news, especially for our Dem propaganda friend, ClashFan, a federal judge has upheld Trump’s executive order to tighten mail-in voting rules and strengthen citizenship verification for federal elections. Now we need states to do the same.

Without proof of citizenship, anyone can vote. The honor system is not a security system. Protecting the vote means protecting its integrity — not just its accessibility.
