Iran must be defeated

We need to go to the negotiating table with serious talks and stop violating the ceasefire and stop the killing and the attempt at regime change for the purpose of control of the world energy trade, which is the stated policy of the U.S.: https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf and https://michael-hudson.com/2026/04/the-oil-grab-doctrine/. The Strait of Hormuz is in the territorial waters of Iran and Oman. The Strait is open to trade that does not benefit the states currently conducting war with it. The end of the empire is here, and countries are re-thinking alliances, including Saudi Arabia. Robert Kagan himself, a godfather of neocons, said the U.S. was handed “a total defeat in a conflict, a setback so decisive that the strategic loss could be neither repaired nor ignored.” (https://deanblundell.substack.com/p/trump-has-officially-lost-the-war). Further, he declared the defeat of the neocon doctrine of “benevolent hegemony.” The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated: we’re on the brink of a global catastrophe. Iran is using the doctrine of mutually assured destruction (MAD). If the US attacks again, Iran will respond with its capable missile and drone force to destroy OPEC production facilities so that oil and gas production will cease in the region. This “nuclear option” is needed to drive the U.S. out West Asia entirely because it is the source of conflict. Besides energy, this will cause a global food shortage because the region supplies about a third of fertilizer production (https://sonar21.com/choke-point-the-global-economic-consequences-of-the-persian-gulf-shutdown/). Already supply chains are crippled. Sulphur and helium, essential for computer chip production, are in short supply, and whole industries may go under. A global depression is possible with all of the social and political and economic instability that it would bring. Iran is telling the rest of the world we will all go down if no one stops the war, but Trump seems ready to accept those consequences by using the military option. Trump must make the decision to make peace or cause economic hardship at home and risk a global depression.

Don’t forget that President Obama had it all figured out, with a deal ready, - which Trump simply tore up, - uneducated and intellectually challenged as he is, and has always been.
