Officials release video of suspect in Brown University shooting

Additional police have been sent to Providence schools to reassure worried parents that their kids will be safe with the Brown University shooter on the loose and no indication yet that investigators have zeroed in on a specific suspect in the weekend attack. Authorities released several new videos Monday of the man suspected in Saturday's mass shooting inside of a Brown classroom, which killed two students and wounded nine others. Anxiety is high in Providence, with investigators knocking on doors and poring through dumpsters and backyards near the Ivy League campus on Monday in search of additional video evidence or other clues. Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee requested additional police be sent to the city's schools to provide reassurance.

Authorities are asking the public to review any security or phone footage from the week before the mass shooting at Brown University in the hopes it might help investigators identify someone they believe might have been casing the scene before the attack. With the search for the shooter in its fifth day Wednesday, the city of Providence is on edge, with investigators showing no sign that they're close to figuring out who was behind Saturday's attack that killed two students and wounded nine others. The request to review older video came after authorities released several clips from the day of the attack. In all of those, the person authorities are trying to identify was masked or had their head turned.

Authorities are investigating a connection between the mass hooting at Brown University and the killing of an MIT professor two days later. That is according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity. Two of the people told The Associated Press on Thursday that investigators had identified a person of interest in the shootings and were actively seeking that individual. The shooting at Brown on Saturday killed two students and wounded nine others. The attacker got away. About 50 miles north near Boston, MIT professor Nuno F.G. Loureiro was fatally shot in his home Monday and died at a hospital Tuesday.
