Editor,

We local residents have been fortunate to be served by an independently owned daily newspaper focused on San Mateo County since 2000. You remain one of the few truly independent papers in the Bay Area — a rare bird in today’s media ecosystem.

Oscar, It seems as if you didn't read the Daily Journal's article. The main point is that the problems in the Assessor-Reorder-County Clerk are the result of the current management and a change is badly needed based on the Journal's investigation.

Ahem guest - the current manager is leaving. Change for a change-sake has not always worked out. Canepa is whole fully unqualified to run anything, let alone such a complex department. The DJ investigation was simply restricted to an interview of the two candidates. Canepa is smooth, just like most politicians, but can he even manage his own office? When the other supervisors endorsed his opponent knowing how Canepa functions, it should tell you something.

Ahem. Irizarry said that he currently runs the office.
