A San Bruno man was arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at Sequoia Station, police said.
Isaiah Karan, 19, was safely detained on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, just before 6 p.m., when a shoplifting suspect allegedly displayed a firearm after security tried to detain him, Redwood City Police Department noted.
The suspect fled before officers arrived, but investigators later obtained surveillance footage and shared the suspect's image with local agencies, police noted.
On Wednesday around 3 p.m., an alert Redwood City officer spotted a man near Woodside Road and Broadway matching the suspect's description.
With the help of additional officers, Karan was safely detained.
During a search, police reportedly found a loaded handgun in his jacket.
Karan was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on felony robbery and weapons-related offenses, along with multiple misdemeanor drug offenses.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective Erik Otterson at (650) 780-7100.
