Default Susan Manheimer for Sheriff of San Mateo County

Please, lets get this done for 2010.

Sheriff Greg Munks plans to run unopposed next year, and why wouldn't he. He was supported by the entire Board of Supervisors, District Attorney and Chief Deputy District Attorney, Mike Nevin Director of Service League of San Mateo County, and Ex Sheriff Don Horsley for being caught and identified as a customer of underaged human trafficked sex slaves. Google: Operation Dollhouse 4/21/2007 Las Vegas.

I will vote for Susan Manheimer if she runs.

Welcome to San Mateo County

Default Then who do you propose should be San Mateo's Police Chief?

Just curious.

There are a number of Command Staff in San Mateo County and their communities (including their city) or adjacent counties that have the skill sets required of a C.O.P. It could even include former FBI/USMS/ATFE.... senior agents!

At this level, it is about leadership across the criminal justice system network - connections and advance training, it is networking between a broad range of agencies, community oriented strengths..., and of course, politics. It has to be a person that will uphold the laws of the State of California, the United States and the local laws and ordinances.

There may not be one person that stands out - but let's see who is interested even if it costs a little bit more to add to the draw.

As to endorsing the SMC C.O.P. to become elected SMC Sheriff - excellent choice! Is the Chief interested?

I agree. Motion carried.

Which of us will write the official plea letter to Officer Manheimer?

There is no need for a letter - she will take out the election papers and this Chief is her own person who is adaptable and resilent....

Default Wrong, wrong choice

Manheimer is VERY good pals with Juvenile Judge Marta Diaz- whom we all know has not only failed to apologize for sending kids to Ayres but actually tried to interfered with the police investigation into Ayres.

San Mateo County is too entrenched and a closed shop. It can't see the serious problems in its court and government system because everyone is too entwined.

I would recommend an outsider who can shake things up. Malcolm Gladwell wrote an excellent essay in the New Yorker this year about the ability of outsiders to shake up the system and achieve success.

This C.O.P. of the City of San Mateo has more responsibility for reopening and provididing and urging on her investigators to look further in the Dr. Ayres case. She was not Chief of Police when 11 years ago or two decades ago when the Ayres case was botched by the District Attorney who is still the DA and his chief assistant Wigstaffe; the courts & probation and other law enforcement have a great deal more responsibility than to lay that comment/observation on the Chief.

Most of us have friends or friends of friends that are not cool or have tarnished silver plates..., but that doesn't make them guilty of much and good peope make keep their distance from questionable people but have to work with them. It is not her job to bring down Judges unless she has jurisdiction to do so. Even speculation can be a curse without more reliable information.

Default The Sheriff should come from outside the County

Too much cronyism, and good ole boy back slapping in the County government. Time for a clean sweep.

The Sheriff should not come from within the ranks of the Sheriff's Department as we have seen by the lack of leadership from the current 5 Supervisors and Jerry Hill who did nothing to protect the deputies from the two bad leaders.

Susan Manheimer has demonstrated to me that she cares. She took the time to personally show up at the Dr. Willaim Ayres trial. James P. Fox, Steve Wagstaffe did not and it was there case.

Susan Manheimer for Sheriff of San Mateo County gets my vote if she runs.

You know Greg Munks is going to run.

Default Sheriff's Job Doesn't Interest Chief

was the title of a Daily Post article 11/10/09 by David DeBolt.

NO CHALLENGERS DESPITE BROTHEL EPISODE

Its looking more likely that San Mateo County Sheriff Greg Munks - who was caught in an illegal brothel but not arrested- won't face any opposition when he runs for re-election next year.

Police Spokesman Lt. Mike Brunicardi: "She has no interest in running at this time."
